Tweetbot for iPad Released

iPhone Life magazine - 4 hours 14 min ago

Following the release of the tweetbot iphone version 2.0 today was the ipad version of Tweetbot.  Twitter has been a popular social media client for some time.   Some users may prefer Facebook while others would choose Twitter.  This difference is what makes the world a colorful place.  Tweetbot has been my favorite Twitter client since it first released.   The thing I like best about Tweetbot is the notification sounds.  It has awesome sound effects for sending and receiving tweets.

BE Write update

iPhone Life magazine - 14 hours 28 min ago

Hello everyone, Well, since my last review on BE Write on 9-29-11 the app has been updated.  I was in the middle of writing an essay and I need to do a word count.  BE Write, being my all time favorite app, didn't have word count.  Knowing the developers are very quick to response to requests or questions I sent off an email.  Within less that 24 hours I got an answer. Lo and behold BE Write now has word count!  It's getting better and better with each revision and I personally use it as my ONLY app for writing my blogs and reviews.

Review: Royal Trouble: Hidden Adventures HD by G5 Entertainment

iPhone Life magazine - Tue, 02/07/2012 - 20:54

Well, it seems G5 has done it again with Royal Trouble: Hidden Adventures for the iPhone and iPad.  The best part is that despite its name and web page description it’s really not a hidden object game!  Don’t get me wrong, because I love HoGs, but there’s also a need for more traditional point and click adventure games, and Royal Trouble delivers that kind of game play in spades.  The story is funny, the characters are cool, and while you occasionally have to think about something for a bit, all the puzzles are really quite logical.  I hope this is the start of a trend towards this kind of game on iOS devices, because I like it.

WeNowBuddy: We are now buddies!

iPhone Life magazine - Tue, 02/07/2012 - 18:54

The best thing about the app store is that there are so many to chose from.  Two of the biggest categories that continue to grow in the app store are social media, and games.  They are most definitely interchangeable for number one at times though.  What could possibly be an app that would be the best of both worlds?  A fusion of both.

Apple reportedly negotiating with partners in Canada to offer TV

iPhone Life magazine - Tue, 02/07/2012 - 12:51

Wow, the rumors on an Apple HDTV just keep coming, with the latest being a report in the Toronto Globe and Mail that Apple is actively talking to two Canadian carriers, Rogers Communications and BCE, to launch an Apple TV in Canada. The report also says that the two companies already have the TV in their labs. This seems credible. But I'm guessing that everything is still in the exploratory stage. Apple seems to be constantly testing options, developing prototypes, and exploring various partnerships.

A Tale of Two Bags: One a Retro Military-Inspired Satchel, the Other a Futuristic Earth-Friendly Messenger Bag

iPhone Life magazine - Mon, 02/06/2012 - 16:38

Two distinct messenger style bags arrived this week, and they presented a nice contrast. The Trench Runner from M-Edge is a retro, army surplus-inspired satchel with several compartments for cables, chargers, and, of course, an iPad. The Narwhal from GreenSmart is an eco-friendly messenger bag (backpacks and duffels are available as well) with a strong emphasis on recycling.

Best Buy customer survey includes item about $1,499 Apple HDTV

iPhone Life magazine - Mon, 02/06/2012 - 14:44

This is weird. A survey being circulated by Best Buy asks customers if they'd be interested in purchasing a $1,499 Apple HDTV. The item begins, "Be one of the first to get the all new 42-inch Apple HDTV from Best Buy for $1499. Apple finally reinvents what a TV can do." And then it goes on to describe the features, which are appealing and are what one might expect: iCloud, apps, built-in camera and microphone, etc. But when referring to the camera, it calls it iSight — a technology that Apple discontinued years ago. And it oddly refers to using the microphone with Skype rather than Apple's FaceTime.

Let's Play (Volume 3): A Puzzling Development

iPhone Life magazine - Sat, 02/04/2012 - 23:33

I think I have said before that I ride the train for several hours a day to get to work. Which means I need quite a few distractions in order to ignore the fact that I am wasting several hours daily. The iPad has been a real boon in that regard, offering a seemingly endless font of activity with which I may waste those countless hours I spend commuting. By far, my favorite way to spend that time is playing games on the iPad, and for the most part that means puzzle games.  In fact, I like these games so much, ten games were just not enough.  Which is why this article goes all the way to eleven.  As usual, the games will be presented in alphabetical order.
