Review: Reckless Getaway by Polarbit
Generally I prefer my games to have a somewhat compelling set of goals, but there are times when I do enjoy the simple pleasure of mass destruction. Still, while I figured Reckless Getaway would be fun, I was pretty much expecting it to be a “few minutes here, few minutes there” sort of game. Turns out I’ve become quite addicted to this little gem. With it’s over the top… well, everything it feels like you’re in control of a chase scene stolen from a John Woo film. About the only thing I wish at this point is that there were a variety of cars to choose from, but otherwise it’s a nearly perfect no holds barred racer.
A case for beating cancer thanks to OtterBox #CES
If you watched the news lately, you may have seen the uproar when a certain charity with a noble purpose gets involved in politics. It might make you jaded and give you pause before you make a donation or buy another "pink" item. So when I saw today's press release from OtterBox, I read it carefully.
Find your iPhone in the dark with the Alter Ego glow in the dark case from M-Edge #CES
The Alter Ego has a cool geometric design that takes its styling cues directly from Apple and the opening for the rear facing camera lens and flash.
The New iTunes U App
The iTunes U app is a great addition Apple's iOS software lineup. I have been using it and the new course format in iTunes U for over a week now and I love both of them. Most of the courses I am taking just for the joy of doing so and to gain a broader understanding of areas of interest.
Apple TV set not likely in April/May, iPhone 5 expected in June
As usual, the provenance of the rumors surrounding the appearance of an Apple TV set is the component suppliers in Asia. Bottom line: if the suppliers can't supply the components, the TVs won't be available. Apple apparently wants to offer a state-of-the-art OLED TV, like the ones shown by LG and Samsung at the Consumer Electronics Show. But to offer such a TV, you need to have the parts.
Fat Jump Pro iPhone App Review
Fat jump pro is a fun game which has you playing a small green character who starts out at the bottom of the screen, and has to jump from bouncy platform to bouncy platform without falling. While this does sound like many other games, this one has quite a few different unique additions to the game which have made it quite enjoyable and greatly adds to the length of time it can be enjoyed.

Photo Tangler Collage HD
Being photography app challenged it was refreshing to find Photo Tangler Collage Maker. This app, by Solid Eight Studios, is simple to use, understand and made for the iPad, iPhone, Windows PC and Mac OS X.
Wear you iPod nano on your wrist with iWatchz #CES
Fortunately, iWatchz is a line of accessories designed by a comapny that is first and foremost a watchband company, and they have used that skill and design expertise to make a high quality suite of wristwatch bands for the iPod nano.
Showyou -- new version of free video aggregator app just released
I wrote an article for our magazine about video aggregation apps, and of course it's now already out of date. These apps are like the wildly popular Flipboard app, but just for video. And they're fun. Showyou was the first to appear last year, and now a new version has just been released that is increasingly similar to the popular Flipboard interface. I also very much like Plizy.

The most flexible iPad case is the iPadFlex from UZBL #MacWorld
When I saw the iPadFlex from UZBL (as in usable) at MacWorld, I wasn't sure what to make of it. Is it an iPad case, a stand, a handle, a tripod, a suction mount, or a carrying strap? The answer is, all of the above. You can add and subtract elements to make your iPadFlex perform exactly as you wish!
I Know What Is "AroundMe" - Do You?
I found this application to be extremely useful. I used this when I traveled to New York from Florida.
iOS App Review: Piggies and Woogies: Natural Enemies
Piggy Woogy seems to operate on the premise that match-three games are way too easy and don’t feature enough lupine commandoes with their hearts set on eating you alive. I have to agree.
Review: Petri-Dash by Distorted Poetry
Petri-Dash is one of the new generation of “dodge everything” games that realizes a game can always use something more to do than just dodge things. In this case you are some sort of sub-species that lives in a Petri dish, and all you want to do is survive. In order to do that you’ll either have to dodge all the other organisms or take them on in a battle of butting heads in order to dominate the dish. Everything comes at a cost, however, and in this case you are constantly losing life just by swimming around. You are also weakened if you collide with another organism without dashing them. When your life is spent is back to the primordial pond for you. You can collect energy pellets to refuel your health, and there are also little versions of yourself that will attach to you when you run them over and give you bonus multipliers to your score. You lose these friends when you hit one of the bad guys.

NFC chips, quad-core iPad, Apple TV set: lots of rumors lately
NFC is one of those technologies that will inevitably happen sooner or later. Imagine going to Wal-Mart, buying a bunch of stuff, and then walking out with it — without ever going near a checkout line. Instead, you simply take out your phone, tap the screen, and your purchases are deducted from your credit card. This is now possible thanks to Near Field Communication (NFC) chips.
