This design was intended to produce vegetables using a rotation of three vegetable polycultures centered around alliums (onion family), crucifers (cabbage family), and legumes (bean family). Due to the heavy clay soil in its first year of production (after sheet mulching all winter), many of the plants did not survive, and the student volunteers turned out not to be available to help during the summer when the garden was in production, so we did not continue maintaining the design after the first year, but I still think it was a sound design!
