This design did not get implemented because the clients moved away, but I'm pleased with how it turned out. The property presented a number of challenges, notably a patio that slopes toward the house foundation instead of away, and a seasonal creek bed carrying contaminated water from a neighbor's chemical agriculture field (to the north) through the property and away to the east. My solution to the patio problem was to cover it with a greenhouse, so that the rainwater would get caught for storage and excess diverted away from the house. The creek bed would have neatly separated a bee forage area in the northeast corner from the rest of the property.
